IS IT OBVIOUS?

A cemetery has a tombstone which bears the following epitaph:
Pause Stranger, when you pass me by, As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, so you will be, So prepare for death and follow me.
An unknown passerby scratched the following reply underneath:
To follow you I'm not content, Until I know which way you went!

Rev. 14:13  Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me,* "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.' " "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them."

I remember being called upon years ago, to preach the funeral of a young man. He had no church affiliation or record of a conversion that any family member knew of. I have to say that  there was a dreadful knot in my stomach, as I tried to prepare myself to preach. I cried out to the Lord about this young man's eternal destiny. I did not get anything except a picture in my mind: One day, some preacher will stand in front of my casket... I do not want that minister to struggle with what to say about where I have gone. I want to live a life that will make it very obvious which way I went.

I asked the audience of mourners that day, "when the day of your funeral comes, will it be easy for the preacher to tell that you have gone to be with Jesus the one you loved most?" A hush fell over the crowd. The funeral home director responded for salvation that day!

Will the works that follow you, make it easy to know which way you went?

Every blessing!
