LOOKING FOR HIS IMAGE

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to [His] purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined [to be] conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

“Faith for my deliverance is not faith in God. Faith means, whether I am visibly delivered or not, I will stick to my belief that God is love. There are some things only learned in a fiery furnace.”— Oswald Chambers

Perhaps you have considered the statement in Rom. 8:28 of how God sees to it that all things work together for our good. This would mean not just the good things, but even bad things are commandeered to benefit us.. eternally! This is good! This is very good! Verse 29 defines what His purpose in this is: being conformed to the image or nature and character of Jesus. The more we allow Jesus to be formed in us, the greater our eternal reward! This is not an easy and certainly not a painless process. However, the sufferings involved are not worthy to compare with the everlasting glory!

Mal 3:2 "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He [is] like a refiner's fire And like launderers' soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in righteousness.

If you read the first verse of this text, it is speaking of the messenger of the covenant: The Lord Jesus Christ Himself! He brings us into the fiery crucible of trial and testing. He raises the temperature so that the dross will come to the surface of our lives and He will skim it off until there are no impurities left! Then, He can look into the molten gold and see His own image! Lord don’t quench that fire until You can clearly see Yourself in me! HALLELUJAH!

Every blessing!

Tom
