IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM

"The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." — Albert Einstein

There is way too much indifference on planet Earth. Jesus gave this prophetic warning two thousand years ago in Matthew 24:12: "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." Beloved, we are witnessing the fulfillment of His words like never before in world history.

2 Timothy 3:1–2 says, "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves…"

When people care only for themselves, we live in a perilous world! Even worse are those who claim to know and represent Christ, yet care only for themselves—those who say by word or action, "It's not my problem!" It is a very sad day on planet Earth.

Look very carefully at the following example of people being lovers of themselves:

"A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise, a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.' So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?" And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." (Luke 10:30–37)

Beloved, we are commanded to love our neighbor as ourselves—that is, if we claim to love the Lord with all our heart! You may ask the same question: "Who is my neighbor?" Jesus explains that our neighbor is the one who needs us most: the person right in front of us! This is a really good time to ask the question, "What would Jesus do?" The answer: "Go and do likewise!"
