“Time is short. Eternity is long. It is only reasonable that this short life be lived in the light of eternity.”
James 4:14 whereas you do not know what [will happen] tomorrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
Scripture is very clear, we Christians, will one day stand before Christ at His judgment seat! (2Cor. 5:10) I haven’t found any loophole to get out of it. One of the most precious commodities that we’re given, that we will give an account for, is what we did with the time we were allotted? How much time did we waste on non-eternal things? I believe the main reason that Christians waste time is they do not understand their assignment from God. The only excuse for not knowing what God has called us to do, is the lack of interest in what that assignment is. We must pursue the knowledge of our calling passionately! Then we will indeed find that thing we are here on earth to do through Him!
Eccl. 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do [it] with your might; for [there is] no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.
The wisdom of God for us is to take hold of that mission that God puts in our hands and do it with all of our strength. Doing the will of God is absolutely the best pastime for us all!
