HAVE YOU SETTLED FOR LESS?
“If God has called you to be His servant, why stoop to be a King? ”
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
That great missionary to India, William Carey, became deeply concerned about the attitu de of his son Felix. The young man, a professing Christian, had promised to become a missionary. But he broke his vow when he was appointed ambassador to Burma. Carey requested prayer for him: "Pray for Felix. He has degenerated into an ambassador of the British government when he should be serving the King of kings." ~Our Daily Bread
Many a God called individual has viewed the upward climb for the high calling of God, too steep! It’s just too risky, too uncertain, too mystical, too radical, too little pay, too much toil, too many have tried and failed, too unappreciated, too misunderstood, too unpopular, too lonely, too little privacy, too criticized, too old fashioned, too controversial, too, too…..
I ran from the high calling of God for seven miserable years of my life. Rather than ascending to greatness, I fell into a horrible pit! O friend, when Jesus reached way down to where I was and pulled me up and pulled me out, I was ready to follow Him as hard as I could in the opposite direction! Don’t misunderstand me, I have far from arrived, but I’m pressing on the upward way. I have already wasted too much time to pursue anything else but His high calling on my life! I will not settle for less! How about you?
Every blessing!
