MORE THAN WORDS

“YOU CAN’T TELL IT LIKE IT IS, IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE IT LIKE IT WAS!”
John 7:38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
Notice with me that the Apostle John does not say, “He who believes in Me, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” No! Our belief must be “AS” the Scripture says if the rivers of life giving water are to flow from us!
1Thes 1:5 For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit
The Apostle Paul affirms what John has stated. Our Gospel did not come to you with just words. No! The words were endorsed as true with power and much assurance. The greatest evidence that their Gospel was more than words, was the fact that the Thessalonians actually became followers, not only of the apostles but also of the Lord Jesus! Why did they follow? Because what they heard was more than words. They heard and received, life giving power!
I believe the reason many are turned away from the Gospel today, is because much of the preaching is not graced with power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit! (see 1Cor. 2:4) We must have our belief in Jesus, “AS” the Scripture reveals Him. THEN our life and our words will bring the waters of life everywhere we go! O God, please flood our hearts with belief in Jesus, as He really is and the overflow will awaken and give life to a world that is dying without hope and without God! In Jesus name and for His sake! AMEN!
